The opening of the Prince William Art Society Member art show started with a bang on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in the form of a very well attended art reception at the ARTfactory in Manassas, VA.

I did not check if all 25 artists were in attendance at the art reception but I dare say it was close! We had so many visitors that came to enjoy the Nostalgia show and were very happy to meet and talk with them as well as read all the stories on the labels of the artwork.
Nostalgia in an artwork can be a very personal thing. Some artworks have an intensity of feeling and a memory of a person, a place, or a time that makes it what it is. Other memories are of great memories that are so happy and joyful of those moments in time that anyone can immediately recognize.
My two entries to the show are below, which are "East Coast Sunrise" and "I Dream of Ice Cream When I Hear the Music".

I had so many comments on my ice cream truck painting - anyone that lived in a city somewhere probably had that summertime joy of ice cream practically delivered to your door step. But you need to read those labels for the full story of each piece.
And for the sunrise painting, that was based on my first experience to the beach and seeing the ocean for the first time. To me, that experience is so profound. So monumental to really understand how big the world is.
I recommend a visit to the gallery as soon as you can to enjoy the wonderful remembrances of the PWAS Nostalgia show. The ARTfactory is at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, VA.
And a few more pictures are available on my other blog, Donna's Cave Painting at https://donnascavepainting.blogspot.com/2026/07/post-456-art-reception-at-artfactory.html so be sure and see those too. Follow, comment - I LOVE hearing from you! And let me know if you go see the show!
