​A na​tive Virginian, born in Alexandria with a lifetime of wandering through Central Virginia including Louisa, Richmond, Charlottesville, and Roanoke, and a short stint in Greensboro, NC, Donna moved back to Northern Virginia in 2007. She dabbled in art only periodically growing up and has had a work-life in restaurants, as a muralist, and in IT until 2020, when COVID and simultaneous layoffs sent everyone home, followed by retirement. Since then her time has been spent in painting. A lot of painting. She discovered a local art group called the Prince William Art Society, joining immediately. Her style is typically ‘painted realism’ or 'photorealism', rendering landscapes, seascapes, animals and pet portraits, and wonderful and historic places to be and see. 

 

Mostly self-taught, Donna is inspired by beautiful colors, textures, sun light, and shadows with a passion to applying the captured vision to canvas, with thought to “painting it as real as it can be” and how to accomplish that. Now retired, Donna can dedicate more time to learning more about the arts, the art business and growth as well as gardening, and other pursuits.

 

A current member of the art groups Prince William Art Society (PWAS) and the Falls Church Arts, and a past member of the Manassas Art Guild (MAG) and the Crossroads Arts Alliance (CAA), Donna is very interested in promoting the art and artists in Prince William County. She is the blogmaster of her own blog called Donna's Cave Painting Blog, Donna writes articles of interest for artists, and introduces her new artworks too. She also maintained the Social Media for PWAS from 2021 up until June 2026.
