Historic Annaburg Manor Surprise
On Sunday, October 25, 2026 the 5th Art Show at the historic Annaburg Manor in Manassas, VA came to a close. Sadly, for those artists that did not sell their artworks that were on display, the end of an art show is followed by Pickup Art Day.
I arrived at Annaburg Manor a bit early for the pickup (yes, sad to pick up my artwork) but was pleasantly surprised to hear and see this...
What is a pianoforte? See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortepiano
I was standing there with Mary Reilly from Creative Brush and we were discussing the instrument and song being played. Mary had asked Steve Thompson (a member of the MSO board and teaches at Music and Arts) who was playing the pianoforte how old the song was.
I remembered that in the 2005 version of "Pride and Prejudice" when Mrs. Bennett is relaxing on the couch, surrounded by 4 of her daughters, she was humming the tune as well. That was toward the end of the movie and Bingley and Darcy are about to visit and the mad scramble begins.

As always, we love this art show in this historic spot at 9201 Maple Street, Manassas, VA and we look forward to the 6th show, probably in spring of 2027. I hope they bring back this piano and the guys playing again! Such an appropriate historic atmosphere for it.

Update: Since this was first posted, I've been updated with the other fellow's name - Daniel Prevost who played the baroque flute.
Can you name that tune he is playing in the video? Drop it in the comments below!
