SOLD - I've seen the movie so many times I think I could draw this in my sleep! I just love JRR Tolkien's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies. SOLD - The Wizard of Oz is a long-time favorite movie of mine, as it is of many in my family, as well as yours, I'm sure. Capturing Dorothy's Ruby Slippers, especially after seeing them in person at the Smithsonian was a must-paint situation. The painting was quickly and even before it was finished, snapped up by a relative of mine. Speaking of fun - THIS was a fun painting to do! I started with the research on Charcuterie Boards after a wonderful Christmas with family where we had a pretty spectacular board laid out. I put ALL of my favorite things on it (the painting). Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I have a painting in my head and a voice that says "Paint this today". Although I am uncomfortable painting people, I occasionally try...I know, I know, practice more. Anyway, perhaps "The Chosen" inspired, but as Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, a dove appeared. And He has made all the difference. An acrylic painting on stretched canvas 11x14.

I love the look of mercury glass, so this flower arrangement is sitting over a black and gray background, more of an abstract style than I usually paint. Abstract painting is rather foreign to me, but wanted to try, and I rather like how this floral arrangement turned out. The blue flowers really set it off.

I wanted the emphasis to be on the terracotta plantings and the view and not be cluttered up with anything more bulky. There are a few things sitting around if you look though.

SOLD - 12x24 acrylic on canvas of a path up the side of a steep grade, the side of a mountain. The path winds off to the right. The mountain across the way may know where the path goes, but we do  not. I could not help but be reminded of the Robert Frost Poem "The Road Not Taken" when I painted this. The humidor is the canvas made to look like the humidor box with a glass front. I painted two versions of the cigar box filled with stogies. I nearly always paint the sides of the artwork, finishing it to the painting. So you would see the gold hinges on one side when you lift the "top". For the guy that like a good smoke, especially with a glass of bourbon. I do have a second version of a humidor painting available too.
